Saturday, October 20, 2007 : Champions hit four in warm-up for Madrid
Super LeagueOlympiakos warmed up for their Champions League meeting with Real Madrid next week with a convincing 4-1 win over UEFA Cup hopefuls Panionios in the Super League on Saturday.

The win takes them to second place on 11 points after five rounds, still four behind AEK Athens who maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a 1-0 win over Larissa.

Olympiakos made a perfect start to their game at the Karaiskakis Stadium when Lomana LuaLua put them ahead after just six minutes.

They dominated the remainder of the first half but failed to score again although Darko Kovacevic had a close range header brilliantly saved by Panionios goalkeeper Dario Kresic.

Panionios, who face Helsingborg on Thursday, came back into the game when Rafik Djebbour converted from the penalty spot but Olympiakos took charge again and eased to victory.

Kovacevic restored the lead in the 64th minute and ten minutes later Ieroklis Stoltidis made it 3-1. Nine minutes from time Luciano Galletti added the final touch from the penalty spot.

AEK had a far tougher game at the Olympic Stadium as they had to play for 79 minutes with only ten men after goalkeeper Jurgen Macho was shown a straight red card after bringing down a Larissa forward just outside the penalty area.

By then, AEK were already leading through Gustavo Manduca's goal after four minutes and they clung on for a hard-earned three points which sets them up nicely for their UEFA Cup meeting with Elfsborg on Thursday.

Larissa will travel to Everton the same day.

All of the other Super League games take place on Sunday.
