- for more stories, see below
The much-anticipated general meeting of AEK was concluded on Monday with three main decisions: Shareholders will add 15 million euros to the club coffers, Stavros Adamidis will become the new president next month and Dusan Bajevic is staying on at the team's bench.
The share capital increase that will reach 15 million euros will be covered by the existing shareholders, according to the statements made by outgoing president Nikos Thanopoulos.
Five million of that will go straight in, with the rest coming next month once the 36-year-old London-based lawyer Adamidis takes over at the club.
"Adamidis will potentially be the president and I have to stay on in order to assist him in assuming his duties," said Thanopoulos.
Later on Adamidis issued an aggressive statement himself, suggesting that "the party is over," declaring war "against the blood-suckers who want to keep AEK without a administration".
He is expected to relocate to Athens and take over at AEK within 20-30 days.
The general meeting took place under the pressure of some 50 hardcore AEK fans, who carried banners against the shareholders and hurled two pots of yoghurt against them.
On Wednesday AEK announced that the official amount of the club's debts stands at 32.6 million euros, according to the auditing conducted by BDO accountants.
