AEK moved up to the fifth spot of the Super League on Monday after their 3-1 win over Larissa at the Olympic Stadium.
The hosts led from the 18th minute through a header by defender Daniel Majstorovic, but Larissa managed to go back on level terms at the end of the first half courtesy of a Romeu Pereira dos Santos strike.
Yet the second half was all AEK, with a 49th-minute penalty converted by Ismael Blanco and a 64th-minute header by Krisztian Nemeth taking the game beyond Larissa.
AEK, who are joint fifth with Aris and Kavala, continued their trend of striking the woodwork this season, with two more instances on Monday by Blanco and Pantelis Kafes, reaching a total of 13 times to date.
