Saturday, August 01, 2009 : Ohio St. graduate boosts team's front line

Jared HomanUS power forward Jared Homan is returning to Euroleague hopefuls Maroussi after three years, boosting the Athens club’s front line.

Maroussi coach Giorgos Bartzokas chose the Iowa State graduate due to his good knowledge of the Greek league from his spell at the club in 2005-06 and to his ability to position himself perfectly close to the basket.

Homan, 26, spent last season at Cibona Zagreb, which also means he has some experience from the Euroleague, too.

“Maroussi was my first professional team after college and I appreciate the opportunity they gave me then.

“Now I am returning to a family and one of the best Greek teams with the certainty that I am more mature and I can help the club meet its targets,” said Homan.
