Thursday, July 02, 2009 : Panathinaikos are away at Ergotelis

AEK and Olympiakos will clash on the opening day of the Super League on August 23, continuing the tradition of major derbies on the league's curtain raiser.

After Panathinaikos vs Olympiakos in August 2007 and AEK vs Panathinaikos in August 2008, this time it is the turn of the third local derby to kick the league off at the Olympic Stadium.

On the same weekend Ergotelis will host Panathinaikos, always a tricky tie for the Greens, while PAOK will have a tough task at Nea Smyrni against Panionios.

All three clubs promoted from B' Ethniki (Atromitos, PAS Yiannina and Kavala) will enter the Super League with away games.

Here is the full fixture list for the opening weekend, according to the draw conducted on Thursday by the Super League at Alexandroupolis:

Ergotelis vs Panathinaikos
Panionios vs PAOK
Xanthi vs PAS Yiannina
Levadiakos vs Kavala
Panthrakikos vs Iraklis
Asteras Tripolis vs Larissa
Aris vs Atromitos
AEK vs Olympiakos

Olympiakos will be hosting Panathinaikos on the 12th round while AEK will face Panathinaikos on the 5th.
