AEK said on Monday that they have completed the signing of FC Basel central defender Daniel Majstorovic on a three-year deal.
The 31-year-old Swedish centre back became the second signing at the club since Giorgos Donis officially took over last week.
"It's a very positive step in my career and I'm impatiently looking forward to integrating myself with the team and starting to work towards our goals," he told AEK's website.
The experienced defender, who has Serbian roots, has been included in Sweden's Euro 2008 squad and should help AEK bolster their defence which has been stretched whenever Traianos Dellas and Sokratis Papastathopoulos have not played as a pair.
At 1.90 metres, Majstorovic also adds height to AEK's defence, which could help at attacking set pieces as well. He scored 11 goals for Basel last season.
During his long career, he has also played for Malmo in Sweden and FC Twente in the Netherlands.
Majstorovic has appeared 14 times for the Swedish national team.
