Ergotelis remained rooted to the bottom of the Super League despite a late equaliser to avoid defeat against local rival OFI on Saturday.
The Cretan derby ended 1-1 after OFI's South African defender Pierre Issa scored an own goal in the 82nd minute.
Brazilian Leozinho, on loan from Olympiakos had given OFI the lead in the 19th minute when he slotted home a penalty.
The draw was not much good for either side as it leaves of them still in the relegation zone.
Ergotelis are bottom on 13 points and OFI Crete are just two places above them.
Xanthi moved into sixth place with a 2-0 home win over strugglers Veria thanks to a productive first half-hour.
Striker Tomas Radzinski opened the scoring in the fourth minute when he volleyed the ball him after finding himself one on one with the goalkeeper.
It was the Canadian's 10th goal of the season and he is now the third highest scorer in the Super League behind Ismael Blanco and Darko Kovacevic who leads the standings on 13 goals.
Stavros Lambriakos added a second in the 30th minute with an acrobatic volley from near the penalty spot after Radzinski had released him.
The defeat leaves Veria in 12th place on 17 points, just one point above the relegation zone.
